Sometimes I look at the screen
even though my eyes are already heavy
I look at the screen
and it hurts seeing my friends having the time of their lives without me
Still, I look at the screen
and accidentally neglect the piles of work I need to study
I look at the screen
and find my fingers move on their own, scrolling robotically
Yet I look at the screen
even though I should be spending time with my family
I look at the screen
and regret all the time I wasted staring at a stupid LCD
I look at the screen
all alone in my room and wonder why I can’t just break free
When I look at the screen
I wish I wasn’t looking at a screen
because I feel trapped
even though I’m the one holding it.
