The moon never shines bright enough

Yet people lift their faces to express their love at it

So how come, when I burn brighter than ever

Nobody looks at me?

I am the sunflower in the field of daisies;

The sheep disguised in a pack of wolves;

The rotten apple core you leave behind;

The loose thread that stick out on your sweaters that you so annoyingly pick out—

You are the statue of Greek goddess

Exhibited at the center of the gallery

I am the painting in the bathroom

Nobody even pauses to notice

Your hollow eyes devour on my heart every night

As I take refuge in the corners of my room

Your thoughts come to me in crashing waves of iced water

I am shivering

But don’t you worry

This isn’t my hundred percent

Tomorrow I will be so much better…

And again and again…

The world keeps walking past

Nobody even pauses to glance.
